Mission Reports: Bronco and a F150

Couple more snow recoveries to report on today!

Monday evening the team went up NW of Red Feather Lakes on the unmaintained portion of CR80 to recover a F150 that got hung up in a pretty steep and deep snow drift. Once the truck was framed out, there was no way to get it out on its own without 3rd party help. The team began making their way to the truck about 3 PM and the last responder was home just after 11 PM.

Tuesday evening another team went up Cumberland Gulch to recover a Ford Bronco that had also framed out in the snow. Team started making their way to the Bronco right about 5 PM, and the last responder was home at about 1 AM today.

Please remember that trails are still mostly impassable this time of year. If you’re going out to explore, make sure you have an emergency kit with you that has food, water, extra warm clothing, and means of communication, 911 doesn’t work in every area, but it works in most!

Don’t travel alone unprepared in the snow, and always let someone know where you are going and when you’ll be back.
