Mission Reports: Grizzly Lake TJ

Saturday the 7th a team from Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery spent a very long day on the Grizzly Lake trail recovering a TJ that rolled off the edge of the road about a week ago.

The team utilized two vehicles to winch this back up onto the road, and had to use trees quite a ways up the hillside for proper anchors to carry out this mission.

The team began assembling in Buena Vista around 9 AM, and arrived at the vehicle by noon. Winching was underway shortly after 2 PM and the vehicle was recovered at approximately 5 PM.

Everyone was off the trail by 6:30 PM and began heading home. The last responder was home just before 3 AM today.

We would like to thank the USFS and Stay The Trail for the assistance in temporarily closing this trail so the recovery could be safely conducted without uphill traffic running into our road block during the operation.
