Mission Reports: Slaughterhouse Gulch and Pearl Pass

Saturday the 17th, a team from Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery went up Pearl Pass outside of Aspen to assist a Tacoma with a mechanical issue. The owner reported excessive smoke coming from the exhaust and suspected a head gasket may have went.

Vehicle fluids were topped off and ultimately this was driven off the mountain where it could be serviced by a shop in town.

Sunday the 18th, another team went up Slaughterhouse Gulch to recover a rolled sxs that had a couple occupants extracted via helicopter the day prior. the only major issue preventing this from being driven was two flat tires. After reseating the beads and checking the machine over, it was able to drive out under its own power as well to a truck and trailer waiting at the parking area.
