Mission Reports: Texas Creek Jeep

Wednesday the 22nd a team from Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery went up Texas Creek west of Pueblo to recover a Jeep that slid off the trail and was sitting at a 30 degree angle. That is an uncomfortable amount of side tilt for most, and extremely close to the tip-over limit of most vehicles.

The team utilized a static line off the front of the vehicle to another anchor rig, and then winched the vehicle back onto the trail from behind. Once the vehicle was at more of a stable angle, it could then be driven off the trail under its own power.

If you ever get into a situation that gets extremely uncomfortable or close to tipping over, STOP and get help. You can save yourself from possible injury, and save your vehicle from going over on its side or top (or much worse, all the way down the mountain).
