Mission Reports: Longwater and Hackett

Thursday August 12th a Team from Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery spent an extremely long day down on Longwater Gulch and Hackett Gulch recovering two vehicles.

The first on Longwater was a Jeep Gladiator that flooded out and was inoperable. The team made the long steep climb up the mountain with truck in tow, utilizing multiple pulling rigs at times in spots to get the vehicle up to an awaiting flatbed trailer. Team members were on the road around 6:30 AM and had all reached the vehicle by 11 AM. The Gladiator was successfully recovered on on a trailer by 2 PM.

The team then began making their way over to Hackett Gulch and arrived at the rolled over Jeep XJ at 3 PM. Scene was sized up, rigged, and recovery was under way at 4:45 PM. The team began their dead tow out of Hackett at 7 PM and had the XJ on pavement where a tow truck could get it at 10 PM.

Last team member was back at home just before 1:30 this morning (Friday the 13th) for some much needed rest.
