Mission Reports: Miller Rock Hasty Team

Saturday the 5th a distress call came in via ham radio relay through the Colorado Connection. A 3rd party contacted dispatch to report a team member was on-scene with a vehicle that almost rolled over climbing the main obstacle by the river on Miller Rock Trail. The two were tethered together to prevent the TJ from rolling, and more resources were needed to safely conduct a recovery.

A hasty team was formed and deployed to the scene to asses the situation and begin rigging for recovery.

While photos tend to flatten the situation out, if you’ve ever been on miller rock and got too close to the edge, you know it is about a 35-40 degree slope quite a long ways down before you’d stop rolling over and over.

Once the recovery was rigged, the TJ was pulled back onto the trail, and helped through the rock wall where everyone could then egress out and head home.
