Mission Reports: Busy week to report!

Another busy week for Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery!

June 13th a team went up switzerland trail to assist with a trail repair on a YJ that snapped some spring bolts. The vehicle owner brought a mechanic friend along and had it mobile a short while later.

June 14th a team assisted in recovering an ATV in rampart range with Douglas County SAR.

June 15th a team was setup to head to Red Feather Lakes and recover a Toyota FJ80, but that owner was able to get out on his own.

June 16th a team was dispatched to the gordon gulch area to recover a F150 from a muddy portion of trail, but before the team arrived they were recovered by a passerby.

Also on June 16th, a team headed up Georgia pass to get a Jeep and Truck pulled out of a muddy spot. Prior to the teams arrival a passerby was able to pull out the truck, so we recovered the Jeep and got everyone on their way home.

June 17th, a team went up storm mountain to assist a Ram 1500 owner with a flat dead tow down to the blacktop after numerous tow companies declined to assist that far up the mountain.

With the extremely warm temps we’ve been having lately there’s a high probability that people will flock to the mountains this weekend to escape the heat. Remember to travel with a group, always tell someone where you are going and when you’ll be back, and have an emergency kit in your vehicle with lots of extra water this time of year, food, clothing for ANY condition, and if you have winches mounted on bumpers, a good recovery kit can get you out of a sticky situation.
